Seniors    Na Gaeil Seniors are down to play An Ghaeltacht in the Quarter Final of the Intermediate Championship on Saturday evening next at 7pm in Austin Stack Park but this is subject to confirmation by the CCC on Monday night. If it goes ahead it will be Live Streamed.

U14    Last Wednesday, September 9th we hosted Currow in our final game in Phase 2 of the league. Our lads scored some great points over the course of the game and ran out convincing winners on a final score of Na Gaeil: 1-21; Currow: 0-02. A feature of the 2nd half was a couple of excellent one-on-one saves by our goalkeeper Iarla O’hAiniféin.

U12     Na Gaeil Green and Gold teams travelled to Ballymac on Sunday evening where they faced strong competition. The Gold team had a close encounter but played some great football and won narrowly by 2 points. The Green team despite playing some great football was defeated by a very strong Ballymac outfit. The White team was hosted by Stacks who got some early scores and were chasing the game in the first half. But Na Gaeil put in a strong performance in the 2nd half and got back in the game but Stacks were the better team on the day and deserved the win.

U10    The U10 boys headed to Currow on Saturday to kick off a series of Go Games organized by Tom Joy and the County Board. Our boys put on an excellent performance and proved very strong on the day. We thank Currow for hosting us.

Na Gaeil U8 squad that hosted Currow in Killeen on Sunday.

U8    Our U8 squad had an enjoyable Sunday morning’s football in Killeen where they hosted Currow. There was some great skill and talent on show.

Split the Bucket    As everyone can appreciate, the usual ways of fundraising have been seriously curtailed because of the Covid-19 restrictions so Na Gaeil has started a Split the Bucket fundraising campaign. This is needed to try to cover the costs of the everyday running of the club: maintenance of the pitch, cost of referees, upkeep of boys’ and girls’ dressing rooms etc so we are hoping that everyone will do their best to support us. You should be able to get an envelope from a coach, a club executive or in the clubhouse, place €2 into the envelope with your name and phone number written on it and drop it into one of the fundraising buckets. There are buckets in the clubhouse, Byrnes Spa,r Oakpark, Terry’s Butchers, Oakpark & Rays Loaded Lunches in Rock Street. If your envelope is pulled out, you will receive half of the money raised for the draw and the club will receive the other half. The 1st draw will take place on Saturday the September 19th. If you’re not in you can’t win.

Hospice Coffee Morning    A Hospice Coffee Morning has been held in Na Gaeil each September for the last twenty or so years. It has always been a very social occasion and a great fundraiser for all the fantastic work that the Kerry Hospice does within the county.

Unfortunately, this year because of the Coronavirus we’ve had to rethink our Coffee morning so instead, we are having a Bake Sale in the club on Sunday the 20th of September from 9.30am to midday, with the option of also having a socially distanced cuppa in the clubhouse, or indeed outside (weather permitting), on the new picnic tables!!  We’re looking for as much support as possible so please come along, buy some delicious home baked goods, have a coffee or tea, and donate to this very worthy cause.

Clubhouse Open The clubhouse is open for food on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Club members can order a toasted sandwich, chips and salad plus a couple of more options for €9. Last food orders are at 8.45pm. This weekend went very well and there is very positive feedback from club members that availed of the service. Hope to see you there next weekend.

Clubhouse The clubhouse is closed for all outside activities and the gym will also be closed until there is further clarification from GAA Headquarters as to when they can re-open. This means that our Monday night bingo, Tuesday night lotto and Wednesday night card playing are suspended until then as well as all other activities that normally took place there on a weekly basis.

Clothes Collection There is now a Clothes Collection Bin situated in Na Gaeil car park for use by all members of the public.
