AGM As per GAA guidelines, Na Gaeil CLG will be holding its AGM virtually on Thursday January 28th at 8pm.

We ask that if you are a Club Member and wish to be part of this AGM that you send your email address to our Club secretary Eamon Browne at the email address: secretary.nagaeil.kerry@gaa.ie by this coming Thursday January 21st. We appreciate this is not ideal for some members but we ask that players and younger members assist their relatives and friends to join.

Nominations for positions or motions closed on January 8th. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to keeping our club operating in 2020 and we look forward to seeing some new faces on our executive in 2021.

Road to Croker       The build- up to the All- Ireland Final continued this week last year with great excitement in the area as we prepared for our historic trip to Croke Park on Saturday January 25th 2020 to take on Rarhgarogue/Cushinstown of Wexford in the All- Ireland Premier Junior Club Final.

What an occasion this was for the Na Gaeil Club, its players, the huge band of supporters and the local area in general. It was the main topic of conversation by everyone especially after our great victory over Kilmaine in Ennis the previous weekend.

Talk of the upcoming General Election took a back seat as all our fans prepared for the trip to Dublin.

A large number of young Na Gaeil fans gathered in the club grounds on the previous Saturday evening proudly wearing the green and white club colours to show their support for the players and they were all agog about their trip to Croke Park the following weekend. How proud the founding members of the club must have felt at this time.

When they got together in 1978 little did they think that their beloved Na Gaeil would be playing in an All- Ireland Final in Croke Park over forty years later.  But it came to pass and nobody was about to miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to cheer on their heroes at GAA Headquarters.  Buses to Croke Park were booked and the club shop couldn’t cope with the demand for hats, flags and scarves for the historic trip!!

Sympathy    We offer our sincere condolences to Michael and Eileen Brick and their children Molly and Danny on the recent sad passing of Eileen’s mother Mary of Glencarney, Rockchapel. May she rest in peace. We also offer our condolences to the Foley family on the recent passing of Jimmy Foley of Kerins Park. Jimmy was a great follower of the GAA and an excellent and very efficient chairperson of the Tralee Town Board for many years. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Clubhouse The clubhouse is closed for all outside activities and the gym will also be closed until there is further clarification from GAA Headquarters as to when they can re-open.

Clothes Collection There is now a Clothes Collection Bin situated in Na Gaeil car park for use by all members of the public
