Seniors    Na Gaeil seniors have a break from competitive football until Kerry make an exit from the All Ireland series. Hopefully that will not happen until the end of this month. The first game then will be the 2020 Intermediate semi final against Beaufort.

U15    Last Wednesday evening on Aug 3rd, our U15 boys had their first game in the Kelliher’s Toyota sponsored Central Region Division. 3League, when they hosted Ballymac. Ballymac played with the wind in the first half and led at the first water break by 1-03 to 0-03.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern with the visitors again edging it by two points, leaving them ahead at halftime by five points. Na Gaeil 0-07, Ballymac 2-06.

Na Gaeil upped their game in the third quarter and out-scored Ballymac by
two points to cut the deficit to just three points at the water break. However, two goals by Ballymac early in the final quarter were decisive and despite our best efforts they ran out winners on a final score of Na Gaeil: 1-18; Ballymac: 7-08.

Next up is another home game next Wednesday night when we welcome Kerins O’Rahillys to Killeen. Training continues on Monday, Friday and Sunday. Team: Iarla O hAiniféin, Jamie Schoenmaker, Jeaic Canty, Ruadhan Clifford, Peter Doyle, Ruairí O hAiniféin, Conor Lucey, Seán Barrett, Oisín O’Sullivan, Kevin O’Donoghue, Liam Cooper, Dara Cunningham, Paddy McElligott, Jack Costello, Seán Morris, Daragh Morris, Dylan McEneaney, Fionn Heaslip, Fionn O’Brien, Sean Warr.

U13    Our U13 boys were in action on Sunday in Round 3 of the County League. The White Team was away to Listowel Emmet’s. It was another great performance by the lads, but Listowel Emmet’s finished strongly to win the game on a scoreline of Na Gaeil: 4-05; Listowel Emmet’s: 5-11.

The Green Team was at home to Ballyduff. This was a close contest, with Na Gaeil up a point at half time. Still leading going into the final quarter Ballyduff failed to get the required scores due to some fantastic defensive play by our lads. Up front we got some excellent points to finish the game two points up. Final score: Na Gaeil 4-10; Ballyduff 5-05.

U11    Our Green and White teams hosted Milltown/Castlemaine on Thursday evening. Conditions were poor but our lads played very well. The U11 Gold Team put on a great display against John Mitchels on Sunday morning.

U7    Our U7 footballers welcomed Ardfert to Killeen on Sunday morning and played a series of fun games which both sets of players thoroughly enjoyed.

Summer Camp    Na Gaeil ran a very successful summer camp last week in Killeen with record numbers attending and enjoying a feast of football activities. Thanks to all our young footballers that attended. We also extend a big thank you to the co-ordinators and to all our wonderful coaches who made this such an enjoyable experience for our stars of the future.

Semi Final    At the time of writing we are not sure if this game is going ahead, but if it is, we wish Jack Barry, Diarmuid O’Connor and the Kerry senior football team the very best of luck in their All Ireland semi final clash against Tyrone on Sunday next in Croke Park.

Sympathy    We offer our sincere sympathy to the Lynch family, Oakpark on the sad passing of Mary Lynch. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis. We also offer our condolences to Donie O’Leary of the Kerry Supporters Club on the recent passing of his brother Denis. May he rest in peace.

There was no winner of the jackpot. €20 Lucky Dip winners were Michael Moriarty, Liosdara, Evan Crean, Racecourse Lawn, Phil & Alan Casey, Oakpark Demesne, Tim Lynch, Forge Cross and Janice O’Sullivan, C/O Na Gaeil.
