Senior Team: Last Sunday our senior team played Kerins O’Rahillys in the Town Board\St. Brendans Board league. Final score was Kerins O’Rahillys 1-7, Na Gaeil 0-5.

Scór na nÓg: The Tralee District round of Scór na nÓg was held in the clubhouse last Tuesday night. This was the first time in two years that we have seen any Scór competition and it was great to be back.

There were representatives from Tralee Parnells, Na Gaeil, Ballymac, Churchill and Abbeydorney, competing in Nuachleas, Ceol Uirlise, Ámhranaíocht eanair, aithriseoracht, and Rince foirne.

It was so nice to see the great variety on show – lovely music from Abbeydorney, accomplished dancers from Ballymac, drama from ourselves, a moving recitation from Ballymac, and talented singers from Churchill and Ballymac. Maolseachlainn Warr, Rory Reen, Jack Canty, Siún and Ruadhán Clifford and Darragh Morris performed ‘Irish Lessons’, written and directed by Mary Quirke, and they did a great job, especially when you consider that the seventh cast member – Gráinne Quirke – was absent through illness on the night.

We’re now looking forward to bringing this drama to the county final, which will be held in Glenbeigh on the 20th March. Thanks to Tom Herlihy from Ballymac who organised everything, and to everyone who turned up to support the competitors on the night.

Congratulations to Liam Cúipéir, Fionn Ó Dálaigh, Iarla Ó hAinifín agus Cillian Ó Griffín, Na Gaeil representativeswho placed 2nd in the county final of Tráth na gCeist, held in Currans last Friday night. Tralee Parnells won the quiz and 2 of their members, namely Brian Reidy & Oisin O’Sullivan, are also members of Na Gaeil.

St. Patrick’s Day: Why not take a break from cooking on Thursday and go along to the clubhouse between 1pm and 5pm where Jackie is offering bacon & cabbage plus a pint for only €10. Live music follows from 8pm to 10pm.

Pop Up Gaeltacht: Come along to enjoy some ceol, craic agus cairde in the club house next Saturday, March 19th at 8pm. Fáilte roimh cách.

Retirement: Having postponed this occasion a few times due to Covid restrictions, I’m happy to report that we are FINALLY getting an opportunity to mark Seán O Connor’s retirement as clubhouse manager.

We have a great occasion – with a meal and entertainment provided – planned for Saturday the 26th March, starting at 7.30pm. For catering purposes we need to know how many people will attend, therefore this will be a ticketed affair, and these will be available in the bar from Tuesday the 15th March. Please come along and help to pay tribute to Seán, who has been a stalwart of the club for many years.

Congratulations: Congratulations to Kieran Dineen and Fiona Herlihy who got married lastFriday in Camp Church. We wish them a long and happy life together.

Lotto results: Lotto Tue 8th March. No winner. Numbers drawn were 1, 6, 27, 32. Lucky dip winners of €20 each were Niall O’Meara, Noelle Kingston, Paddy Whelan, Micheál Maher, Máire Coleman, Killarney. Next week’s jackpot will be €6,600.

Na Gaeil TV: Watch out for Na Gaeil TV’s “The Green Flag”. Its a showcase for everything Na Gaeil. Catch it on Na Gaeil’s Facebook page and other social media outlets.

Kerry teams: Well done to Diarmuid O’Connor & Jack Barry who helped the Kerry seniors defeat Mayo last Saturday night in the National League. It was also a good weekend for the Kerry U20 team as they beat Dublin in the John Kerins Cup final in Nenagh. Devon Burns & Enda O’Connor were the Na Gaeil representatives on the team.

Registration:  Player registration is now due. The family membership is a great option to help support our ever-expanding club. We have made it very easy for all parents to pay membership by following the link to Klubfunder:https://www.klubfunder.com/Clubs/Na%20Gaeil%20CLG/Membership

Volunteers needed: The club is at all times looking for new volunteers. If you’d like to give a hand with our bingo on a Monday night, our lotto on a Tuesday night or maybe helping with juvenile coaching we’d be delighted to hear from you.

U7s: Training every Sunday in MTU from noon to 1pm.

U9s: The hailstones didn’t stop our under 9 boys from getting stuck in on Sunday last in MTU. We had 3 games to ensure all boys got plenty of ball time and improvements are being made week on week. We are looking forward to donning green in the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Thursday.

U11s: Our 19 U11s had a very productive session once again last Sunday, unfortunately in tough conditions, in the IT. We concentrated this week on hand passing in possession and then finished with a very competitive game. All going well we will be travelling next week to our neighbours, John Mitchels.

U15s: Gym work continues every Friday (6pm-7pm) and pitch session each Sunday from 11am to 12.30pm.

U17s: Our minors are due to host Renard/St. Marys in their second game in the county league next Saturday, 19th March at 4pm.

Cúl Camps 2022: A note for your diary if you have little footballers in your house ….Na Gaeil’s Cúl Camp will be held from July 4th-8th.
