Kerry v Dublin:  Well done tothe Kerry team especially Jack, Diarmuid & Stefan last Sunday in their thrilling All-Ireland semi-final win against Dublin. What a match!

Kerry Ladies: Well done to Mary O’Connell and the Kerry Ladies team who defeated Armagh in the All-Ireland quarter final last Saturday. They are now into an All-Ireland semi-final against Mayo next Saturday, July 16th.

Sympathy:  Sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Christy Cummins who died on July 3rd. May he rest in peace.

Seniors: The final round, Round 11, of the Co League Div 2 was played last Thursday night in Killeen. Our opponents were Milltown/Castlemaine. Na Gaeil got off to a great start with a point from the throw-in but Milltown/Castlemaine soon replied with a pointed free.

The remainder of the half saw Na Gaeil dominate possession but they shot a host of bad wides. There was no score for the next few minutes but a point each from Darragh Reen and Kieran O’Donovan eventually put us ahead 3 points to 1. A Daragh Devine converted free stretched the lead to 3 points before Milltown/Castlemaine added 2 points of their own.

Na Gaeil sub Ruairí O’Sullivan was at the end of a good move and popped over a point to stretch the lead to 2 points again. The final few minutes saw a point for either side to leave the halftime score Na Gaeil 0-6, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-4. Milltown/Castlemaine struck for a point early in the second half but crucially Na Gaeil added 4 on the trot to stretch their lead to 5 points mid-way through the 2nd half.

Milltown/Castlemaine added 2 points but they never looked like getting through for a goal and it was Na Gaeil who closed out the game with the final 2 points. Final score: Na Gaeil 0-12, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-7.

The win means we retain our Division 2 county league status for next year.
