Kerry LGFA: Round 6 of the National League Division 1 sees Kerry travel to Páirc Uí Rinn next Friday March 17th to take on Cork. Kerry sit on top of the league table having won all 5 of their games to date and hopefully they can keep it going. U13 Boys (Green Team): Na Gaeil 0-2; Austin Stacks 5-8. In greasy conditions in Killeen, our Green team suffered their first loss of the year. Our cause wasn’t helped by the unfortunate early injury to Jayden Chalke.

Despite shipping some early damage Nathan Anthony and Conor Reidy led the fight from the home side. Fresh from a Kerry basketball cup final win, Jonathan Sheehy clipped over a lovely point from play.

Well done to all the lads for their effort and attitude. Sean O’Connell; Dylan McCarthy, Jude Hogan (c), Seán Óg Murphy; Nathan Osibodu, Conor Reidy, Ephrem Falvey; Jayden Chalke, Ben O’Sullivan; Nathan Anthony, Jonathan Sheehy, Paddy Hennessey; Kieran Feely, William Scanlon, Gearóid Lacey.

U13 Boys (White Team): Na Gaeil 1-11; Austin Stacks 2-2. The White team got their season up and running in with a win against Austin Stacks after last weekend’s reversal against John Mitchels.

Worryingly, the visitors opened the scoring by rattling the home net. Na Gaeil quickly settled and pointed through Aaron O’Donovan, Andy Costello and Donagh O’Connell.

Joe Field and Danny Brick were industrious in midfield, while Éanna Leahy and Dean O’Leary ensured the visitors were held at bay. Up front, Luca Cronin and James Kelly were working tirelessly and Eoin Hannon looked dangerous on the edge of the square as the hosts led 0-9 to 1-0 at the break.

In a competitive second period the crucial goal came from O’Donovan who coolly finished after a scramble in the Stacks defense. Jake Barrett, Eoin Tansley and Philip Doyle were on top in the half line aided by Rory John O’Brien at corner back.

Ben O’Sullivan was superb in the home goals and the home side kept their cool to record their first win of this year’s campaign.

Team: Ben O’Sullivan; Dean O’Leary, Éanna Leahy, Rory John O’Brien; Jake Barrett, Eoin Tansley (0-1), Philip Doyle; Danny Brick, Joe Field (0-1); James Kelly, Andy Costello (0-4), Luca Cronin; Aaron O’Donovan (1-3), Eoin Hannon, Donagh O’Connell (0-2).
