Na GaeilSENIOR: Na Gaeil faced Ballymac in the first round of the Brendans league.

Played at the Tralee Athletic grounds, Na Gaeil started the brighter with Diarmaid Herlihy opened Na Gaeils account with a goal after Jamie Lowham supplied the trough ball leaving the fox one on one with the keeper.

Mike Griffin quickly followed up with a fine long range point to extend their lead, but a combination of two forced substitutions for Diarmaid Herlihy and Eoghan Sheehy, which interrupted Na Gaeil’s rhythm  along with Ballymac coming to terms with the cross field breeze saw Ballymac reel in the lead and at the approach of half time seeing the teams even, with Shane Carey adding a further two point for Na Gaeil just before the break.

Although both teams enjoyed fairly even amount of possession,  Ballmac were more clinical in their finished ran out winners on the score line of 2:12 to Na Gaeil 01:07, with Na Gaeils scores in the second half coming from Eoin O’Neill and Mike Griffin with three points.
