Na GaeilCongratulations:  Heartiest congratulations to Na Gaeil senior player Jack Barry who won a Sigerson Cup medal at the weekend. He was a member of the UCD team that defeated DCU in the Colleges Final in Belfast on Saturday last. It is great achievement for Jack to be on the first UCD team to win a Sigerson Cup Final in 20 years. Well done.

Minors:

Our county league game V Laune Rangers was postponed due to unplayable pitches at both clubs. Game rescheduled for February 27th away. With Leahy’s Pharmacy sponsoring our jerseys, Meadowlands Hotel have now on board with the team in sponsoring squad tops and pants for the panel.

We extend our appreciation to both sponsors. The lads did a fun session last Sunday at Banna Beach with Patrick, Shawn, Fergal and Damien braving the freezing waters afterwards. We wish Aaron and Anthony a speedy recovery from their injuries.

 U14 Boys:

The boys were put through their paces this week working on kick passing and the solo off both feet. Good numbers at all sessions and the sports complex is a real success in terms of training in these terrible weather conditions. Registration will be required in the coming weeks for all players. We will have a goalkeeping course in Na Gaeil on Saturday February 27th.

U10s:

Our boys continue to train indoors in Tralee Sports Complex. We had another big turnout last Sunday. Thanks to Shane Fitzgerald from the senior team who gave JJ and Ger a hand with the training. Training will take place again next Sunday at Tralee Sports Complex from 11am until noon.

Players are asked to bring €2 to cover the cost of the hall & please bring along your mouth-guard & a bottle of water too. Just a reminder that all players need to be registered with the club. Please register next Sunday. The cost for under 10s is €40.

U8s

Training continued at the Tralee Sports Complex Astro Turf Facilities on Sunday last at 10 am. Once again excellent turnout despite some technical difficulties with our texting service . The coaches divided the U7s & U8s into different groups to allow everyone get more ball time. We practiced the basic skills and finished with very competitive practice games.

Great performances from Brian Daly, Brian Heaphy & Nikita Hoare. Most improved players: Sean Cantwell, Fionn O’Dalaigh & Jack Kelly. All Players are asked to bring €2 to cover facility expenses.  Also ensure you bring your water bottle & mouth-guards. Make sure you check out the Na Gaeil Facebook page for lots of photos of the teams and training sessions. See you all next Sunday at the Tralee complex 10am.
