Na Gaeil Annual Cycle   Na Gaeil Annual Cycle took place on Saturday last and was a great success. Well in excess of one hundred cyclists took part, some cycling the 40km route and the more experienced cyclists doing the 80km route. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was great to see so many young people taking part.

Thanks to everybody who helped to make it such a successful and enjoyable event: The families that provided all the delicious and tasty food. There was a huge array of tasty sandwiches, scones, cakes, buns, tea, coffee and delicious hot soup.

Thanks to the people who distributed the food in the clubhouse all day, the Civil Defence for providing the ambulance and the stewards for their presence at the various traffic junctions.

A special thanks also to the people that manned the food stations in Abbeyfeale and Castleisland and to the Abbeyfeale hall Committee for the use of their facilities. Last but not least thank you to all the cyclists that took part and supported this fundraising event for the club and helped to make it such a wonderful occasion. Kerry Minors   Congratulations to the Kerry Minors on a fantastic display in Croke Park on Sunday. Well done to Diarmuid O’Connor who had a great game at no. 12. He fisted over the bar for a great point in the first half and scored a wonderful goal in the last play of the game. Well done also to Stefan Okunbar who came on as a substitute in the second half and got stuck in immediately.

It was a proud day for Na Gaeil to see these two boys playing together on the hallowed turf of Croke Park. It is also fantastic to see another Na Gaeil lad, Ryan O’Neill on the extended panel and playing well in training. What a great experience for all three of them. We wish them all the best in the All Ireland Final against Galway in September.

Na Gaeil Ladies   Na Gaeil Ladies v Tralee District in the Senior B County Championship Semi Final.

Tralee District conceded the Semi Final to us on Friday night. We have the final to play on Friday the 2nd September with venue, time and opponents to be confirmed.

Na Gaeil Ladies v Beaufort in the U16 Div 2 Semi Final.

We had home advantage on Thursday against a much changed Beaufort Team from last week. We started brightly with points from Sibeal and Meagan. Erika scored a goal after a great pass from Clodagh Mc Hugh.

Meagan and Erika scored another point each after some great work from midfielders Abi and Clodagh O Connor. Beaufort defended with numbers which enabled space for Fiodhna Tangney to score 2.02 to keep her team in contention.

With half time approaching, Sarah scored a goal but Beaufort came back with another 1.01 from Tangney. We were level at half time. We made a few changes with Caragh and Freya coming into the side. Mary marked Tangney for the rest of the game to keep her scoreless but the nerves kicked in for the 2nd half and we kicked a lot of wides.

Beaufort started brightly scoring 5 early points but we settled for the rest of the 2nd half with Aimee, Laoise , Ria and Dearbhla having to be on their toes for the counter attacks . Ciara, Muire and Brid came on to help the forwards. Aine’s kick outs were finding our players and we had Beaufort on the ropes. Kay got us a point followed by a goal from Abi.

Meagan got us a point from range. After a fine pass from Kay, Sibeal found the back of the net to keep us up by a point. Well done to all on a very exciting night. Our County Final opponents and the date of the game is  be confirmed.
