U 12   We travelled to Keel Sunday last for Round 5 of Central Region Div.2. Playing against a gale force wind in the first half we managed to go in at half time in front thanks to  goals from Kieran O Connor and Nathan Rodgers. With daylight fading fast conditions were tough in the second half and a determined Keel outfit reduced the deficit to two points. Many of our lads were beginning to tire as they had been involved in an U13 Blitz over the weekend and so it was great that we had such a strong bench that we could spring into action in the second half. Sub Rory Reen came on in the full forward position with ten minutes remaining and was causing a lot of problems for the Keel defence, culminating with a great fisted effort that left the Keel goalkeeper with no chance!

Our best team display of the season resulted in a well deserved win for the boys.

Team:  A. Delahunty, C O’ Neill, J. Doyle, S. Barrett, K. Sheahan, B. Coffey, S.Coffey. K. O’Connor, S.O’ Connor, S.O’ Connell, E. Sheehy,  R.Reen,  N.Rodgers, S. Kelly, C. Murphy.

U 10   We are due to travel to play John Mitchels under 10s next Sunday, with throw-in at 10.30am. Anyone who needs a lift on the day is asked to be at Na Gaeil at 10am. Please ensure you bring water and your mouth guard. We will have a few more challenge games before the end of the season so hopefully everyone will make a big effort to be available.

U 8   Training continues next Thursday at 6.30pm.Next Sunday we travel to Mitchells for a challenge game. Throw in is 10.30am sharp .Please be at the pitch for 10.15am. Mentors will leave from Na Gaeil field at 10amto collect those who require transport. Best Wishes to our three Na Gaeil Stars assisting the Kerry Minors to make history next Sunday. Na Gaeil Ladies   Na Gaeil v Cromane, Div 2 U16 Ladies County League Final

We played in Fossa on Thursday in near perfect conditions against Cromane in the County League Final.  Cromane beat us in the league so we had to step it up. Meagan and Jadyn captained the side and gave their teammates a rousing speech before the ball was thrown in. Kay got us off to the perfect start with a point after a fine run. This was quickly followed by a point from Sibeal and a free from Meagan. Cromane got their 1st point 2 minutes later. Meagan found the back of the net after winning their keeper’s kick out. 5 minutes was all that was gone in what was to be a very exciting game. Cromane came back at us and scored 1-02 but Jadyn made another drive forward after some fine work from Erika and scored a goal. Cromane came back at us again and scored a quick fire 2.02. Our backs were under pressure with Aimee and Megan having to cope with a very pacey Cromane forward line. Ria made a few great blocks to stop their full forwards. Dearbhla was being pulled from pillar to post as she had to chase her player all over the field but we gained control for the last 15 minutes of the 1st half with Sibeal and Meagan scoring a point apiece. Clodagh Mc Hugh went on a run then scoring 1.02 before Jadyn and Sibeal scored another point apiece. Abi finished the 1st half off with a goal. We knew Cromane would come back at us hard for the 2nd half but we were ready. Meagan scored 1.01 in the opening 2 minutes followed by another goal from Abi. Cromane again hit back by scoring 2.01. Meagan and Erika scored another point each before Cromane scored another goal with 16 minutes to go! This is where our girls stood up to be counted. Sarah and Mary were outstanding and started to control the halfback line with their defending and forward passing, Aine was making decisive kickouts and winning any ball that was coming into her area with Freya, Ria and Eimear blocking every run and stopping Cromane scoring anymore. Jadyn and Clodagh had midfield covered with Jadyn touching every blade of grass on the pitch. We kicked on and Meagan scored another 1.01 after being set up by Abi and Erika. Caragh and Brid were creating space for Sibeal and Abi to get our last points of the game. Erika dropped a bit deep to stop Cromane coming out with the ball. For the last 5 minutes we controlled the pace and the play with some superb passing to see out a great win with a final score of 7-15 to 6-08.  This was a great game of football played in a great spirit by both sides. The team can be proud of this achievement and the footballing style that was played. We say a big thanks to our supporters and to Seán and staff on our arrival back to the club after the game. Na Gaeil Abú.
