Na GaeilRACE NIGHT: Another great night was enjoyed in the club last Saturday  with our  annual race night.

Philip did a outstanding job as master of ceremonies. Our judges had the unenviable task of picking a winner from the very many stylish ladies present, but finally agreed on Eileen Moriarty stunning ensemble and Melissa Hurly for her lovely hat.

Congratulations to Eamon Browne for winning best dressed man who looked debonair, and to Adrian Carmody for sporting such a dapper hat, well done for adding so much to the occasion.

Of course Elsa the doll  caused quite a stir on the night ,all helping to make the raffle great fun thanks to Mary Maunsell for donating such a wonderful prize.

Thank you to all members who sold horses or ads for the race card, and to our sponsors,  to everyone who contributed in any way thank you very much for your continued support, all funds raised will be a great help funding the club for the 2015 season.

A Special thank you to Donal Lucy and the race night committee for all their hard work organising the night.

NA GAEIL SENIOR LADIES:Na Gaeil Senior Ladies finished the season on a winning note by winning the Mary Jo Curran Plate final played at Keel on Sunday morning under ideal conditions. In a hard fought encounter with Corca Duibhne Na Gaeil emerged victorious on a scoreline on 5-4 to 3-5. Corca Duibhne were quickest to settle and went into a 2 point lead in the opening minutes when an excellent point from Nora O Connell playing at full forward settled Na Gaeil.

Na Gaeil started to dominate the middle third at this stage and excellent work by Jadyn Lucey began a slick interchange of passes which set up Meadbh Horgan for Na Gaeils first goal giving them a lead they would not relinquish.

On the resumption Jadyn found space and sent a rocket to the Corca Duibhne net to leave the score 2-1 to 0-2. Corca Duibhne then rallied to score 1-1 but  a further 2-1 before half time saw Na Gaeil go to the short whistle leading 4-2 to 1-3. The Na Gaeil scores coming from Meadbh Horgan 0-1 and goals from Deirdre Kearney and Eilis O Connor.

In a half where chances were few the Na Gaeil defence dominated with Emer Nolan, Sara Quigley and Fiona Kavanagh dominating. On the resumption Corca Duibhne hit their second goal of the match but this was quickly cancelled out by a class effort low to the net by Jadyn.

Corca Duibhne hit a further 1-2 in the half but 2 points for Na Gaeil from Kate Anne and Brid O Connor saw Na Gaeil hold a 5 point lead going into the closing minutes.

Corca Duibhne continued to press to the end but Gallant work by Muireann Moriarty, Niamh Moriarty Maura O Connor and Brid O Connor closed out the game for Na Gaeil. Others to impress on the day were Fiona McKeown, Clodagh Griffin and Meagan Sheehy up front.
