THREE new Consultant Surgeons and a Consultant Radiologist have joined the medical team at the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee, enhancing its reputation as one of the top private hospitals in Ireland.

Consultant General Surgeon, Yasir Bakhari and Consultant Vascular Surgeon, Greg Fulton will begin to see patients in April, Plastic Surgeon John Curran will arrive in July and Consultant Radiologist Ciarán Healy will start in August.

The Manager at the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee, Donna Roche said: “We always strive to strengthen our team and increase our offerings to patients who seek advanced medicine with exceptional care.

“The Urgent Care Centre was established with a view to creating choices for patients who wish to be assessed by an Emergency Consultant without delay. The arrival of new Consultants in the coming months to Tralee will add to the already strong range of medical services currently available at the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee to patients from Kerry and further afield.”

Consultant General Surgeon, Mr Yasir Bukhari has vast experience in managing all acute general surgical problems like appendicitis, diverticulitis, bowel obstruction, perforation and trauma.

Mr Bukhari moved to Ireland from Pakistan in 2002 and completed his higher surgical training in Ireland in various teaching hospitals including the prestigious University College Hospital Galway.

He was appointed as a consultant surgeon in General and Colorectal surgery in Galway/Roscommon hospital group in 2013.

Greg Fulton, a Consultant Vascular Surgeon from Belfast, Co Antrim graduated in medicine from Trinity College Dublin in 1990 with an Honours in Surgery. Greg’s most recent post as Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Cork University Hospital, Cork, Ireland began in 2003, and was also appointed to the Staff of the Bon Secours Hospital Cork in 2010.

In July, the Bon Secours Hospital will extend its Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service with the appointment of Mr John Curran.

He is currently practising as a Clinical Fellow in Aesthetic Surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Mr. Curran’s specialist areas of interest include Cosmetic Surgery and Microsurgery.

Dr Ciarán Healy will return to Ireland from Canada in August to take up a position as a Consultant Radiologist. Originally from Dublin he has currently practising at St Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver.
