New Car Sales In Kerry Last Month Down Over Half March 2019 Figure

THE number of new car registrations in Kerry last month wasn’t even half of last March’s figure, showing how the COVID-19 crisis has had an effect on the industry.

Figures from The Society of the Irish Motor Industry  show just 151 new cars were sold in March compared to 337 in March 2019, a drop of 55%.

Ford (21) was the top selling brand followed by Hyundai (20),  Toyota and Skoda (17 each) and Peugeot (13).

The Peugeot 3008 was the top selling model (8) Ford Focus (6), Hyundai Kona (6), Toyota Corolla (6), Hyundai (6) and Nissan Quasqai (5).

Diesel cars were the biggest sellers at 71 (-56%) followed by Petrol cars at 261 (-63%), 18 Petrol Electric (-28%), 4 Electric (+100%), 4 Petrol/Plug-In Electric Hybrid.
