New Garda Chief Supt For Kerry Takes Up Role Today

CHIEF Superintendent Eileen Foster has officially taken up her role as the Divisional Commander for the Kerry Garda Division today.

Speaking at Tralee Garda Station today, Chief Superintendent Foster said “I am delighted to be assigned as the new Chief Superintendent for the Kerry Garda Division. I am looking forward to working closely with the communities and stakeholders in the county.”

Chief Superintendent Foster is a native of County Cork and joined the force in 1989. She served in Pearse Street Garda station, for a short period of time before transferring to Athy, Co Kildare.  She served there for six years before transferring to Cork City.

In 2001 she was appointed Detective Garda and served in Cork Divisional Drugs Squad until 2005 when she was promoted to rank of Sergeant and transferred to Watercourse Road Garda station.

In 2006 she was appointed as a Detective Sergeant in Watercourse Road Garda station. In 2010 shew was appointed to rank of Inspector and transferred to Anglesea Street Garda station where  worked as a patrol officer until 2015.

In 2015 she was appointed as a Detective Inspector and successfully completed Senior Investigating Officer course.  Set up Divisional Protective Services Unit in Cork City.

In 2017 she was promoted to rank of Superintendent and transferred to DMR South Central- Governance.   In September of 2018 she was appointed Detective Superintendent and transferred to Garda National Protective Services Bureau, Harcourt Square Dublin 2, before being promoted to rank of C/Superintendent and transferred to Tralee Garda station to take charge of Kerry Division.
