THE new pay parking meters installed during the summer in Tralee will be able to accommodate Google Pay, Apple Pay and Revolut Pay forms of payment by sometime in October.
At Monday’s meeting of the Tralee Municipal District of Kerry County Council, Mayor of Tralee Cllr Mikey Sheehy asked management why the meters could not accept Google Pay, Apple Pay or Revolut Pay.
The meters were introduced in June at all Council-run car parks in town and later all on-street meters were able to facilitate either cash or card payments.

Mayor Sheehy said he had received a number of complaints from members of the public that they could not use the Google, Apple to Revolut payment methods..
Council management said facilities for the use of smart payments are currently being trialled by the supplier of these pay machines and it is anticipated that the facility for using Google Pay, Apple Pay or Revolut Pay will be available in September or sometime in October.
