THE annual Tralee Rotary Club President’s night took place at Ballygarry House Hotel on Friday night and saw a new President take the chain of office.

Derry O’Sullivan’s final official function as President of the Rotary Club was to hand over the chain of office to incoming President elect for 2015/2016 Richard Bono.

Members of the Rotary Club enjoyed drinks and a barbecue at the Pavilion in the hotel to mark the occasion and Richard Bono, a member of the club for five years said he’s looking forward to the year ahead as President.

Killorglin native, Derry O’Sullivan, thoroughly enjoyed his time as President.

“It was a great year. The most rewarding part was working with different charities and seeing how the money raised was spent. I met a lot of great people along the way,” he said.

The Rotary Club is running a charity event this Sunday and there’s still time to take part.

A Motorbike Poker Run will take place from the Imperial Hotel at  11.30am taking in five locations before returning to the hotel around 5pm.

It’s all to raise funds to buy ‘survival boxes’ which are full of essential supplies to help people in areas which have suffered natural disasters.

It costs €10 per entry and you can register at the Imperial on Sunday morning between 10am and 11.30am.
