JUST when we thought we were out, they pull us back in.
Having taken a battering of torrential rain on Friday, Met Eireann says we’re in for more of the same in the next 24 hours and have issued a Status Orange rainfall alert for the county.
Unusually, it’s just for Kerry and no other county is mentioned. There is a Status Yellow alert for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Limerick though.
As I write (at 12 noon) is seems Tralee is escaping any heavy rain but judging by the radar image, south Kerry isn’t faring too well.
Met Eireann says there will be further heavy rain through Sunday and Monday with accumulations of 50-70mm possible in Kerry.
The Status Orange alert was issued at 6am this morning and is valid from Sunday, September 13 06:00 to Monday, September 14 at 12:00.
