Number Of People Signing On In Tralee Increased In June

THE Tralee Live Register figure for June rose last month, according to data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

There were 3,328 signing on in Tralee last month compared to 3,227 in May, an increase of 101.

It’s now the lowest figure for May in Tralee since before the recession when, in May 2007, there were 3,181 signing on.

Countywide, 6,609  people signed on at the seven offices in Kerry last month which is up from 6,505 in May, a 1.5% increase. The jobless figure rose 41 in Listowel to 1,218,  by 34 in Killorglin to 476 and in Caherciveen by seven to 232.

The figure dipped by 40 in Killarney to 837, by 23 in Dingle to 309 and in Kenmare it decreased by 16 to 168. Despite last month’s increase, Kerry’s Live Register has fallen by 13% in a year.
