A NUMBER of Tralee-based businesses are in the running for the Irish Wedding Awards 2018 which takes place later this month.

The awards, organised by Creative Oceanic, celebrate the hard work of the best professionals and establishments in the Irish wedding industry. Thousands of nominations were received from the public and the full list of finalists has now been compiled.

The Kerry nominees are Maura Sheehy of Maura’s Cottage Flowers and Shades of Bloom (Killorglin) in the Florist of the Year category; Ballygarry House Hotel, Ballyseede Castle Hotel and Muckross Park Hotel in the Wedding Venue of the Year and The Kerry Wedding Store & Bridal Boutique (Tralee) in both the Wedding Boutique Of The Year and in the Event Decorators of the Year categories.

Heavenly Baked (Tralee), O’Mahony’s Bakery (Tralee) and The Kerry Cake Company are shortlisted in the Cake Designer of the Year category; Brush ‘n’ Blush (Tralee) and Fossa Hair Salon (Killarney) for Hair & Makeup Salon of the Year; Carol Kennelly Millinery is up for Wedding Accessories Provider of the Year; Muckross Park Hotel & Spa for Romantic Wedding Venue of the Year; Congratulations.ie (Farranfore) for Stationery Supplier of the Year; Ciara O’Donnell Photography for Photographer of the Year; Aislinn Events (Annascaul) and Olivia Buckley Events (Killarney) for Wedding Planner of the Year; Bernie O’Donoghue at Muckross Park Hotel and Spa (Killarney) for Wedding Coordinator of the Year.

The black tie event will be held at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin on Sunday, January 28, so best of luck to all nominees from Kerry.
