The newly named Ashe Hotel on Maine Street which will open next week.
THE old Abbey Gate Hotel is to reopen next week with a new name and a significant refurbishment.
The hotel, which was bought by Boyle Brothers earlier this year, will be called The Ashe Hotel and it is hoped the business will be opened by Thursday.
The hotel will have 71 bedrooms (it previously had 100 bedrooms) a bar, restaurant, function and meeting rooms.
It’s the first of two hotels in town set to reopen in the coming months, with Der O’Sullivan’s new venture in Benner’s Hotel on Castle Street also expected to open in the near future.
It’s welcome news on the jobs front for Tralee.
