St Brendans v Rathmore 4pm(extra time if necessary)

St Brendans Kenmare Alan O'Donoghue Tadhg Morley 1

Alan O’Donoghue in action for St Brendans last weekend.

It appears the Kerry hurlers gain is St Brendans loss as they face into a difficult encounter against a tough championship side like Rathmore.

The Saints put up a decent showing against Kenmare District until the last 20 minutes when their young side ran out of steam. How they could do with the likes of John Egan if he wasn’t so instrumental for the Kerry hurlers who are in the midst of Leinster championship action at the moment.

Paul Murphy scored two goals in Rathmore’s five point loss against Dingle and the East Kerry team welcome back Aidan O’Mahony who returns from suspension.

St Brendans had periods of dominance agianst Kenmare District, but they also had the benefit of having played a game already this year.

Verdict – Rathmore by 4

Kerins O’Rahillys v Feale Rangers 5:45pm – (extra time if necessary)

Kerins South BJ 2

Barry John Keane in action for Kerins O’Rahillys last weekend.

The second match has O’Rahillys facing a Feale Rangers team who lost to St Kierans last week by two points.

The big absentee for the North Kerry side is 2015 All-Star Anthony Maher, who if reports are to believed, may miss the entirety of the championship campaign.

Strand Road were unlucky to lose to champions South Kerry by the minimum. Mike Quirke and Morgan Nix’s charges will feel they left that one behind and will have to pick themselves off the ground if they wish to maintain their championship ambitions.

Mentally, it’s a difficult one to take for the blues, but seeing as we’re now in knockout, they should be able to refocus themselves. If O’Rahillys recapture some of the magic they displayed in the first half against South Kerry they should prove too hot to handle.

Verdict – Kerins O’Rahillys by 4
