Orlagh Winters: Just Because A Man Looks Stylish Doesn’t Mean He’s Vain

What is it about us as a nation that we still believe that when a man looks after himself that he is vain?

Granted it is getting much more acceptable for a man to ditch the sportswear and put on a nice jacket and shirt.

We girls take pride when our man looks well and rightly so. We put a lot of effort into our look and it is only right that our menfolk do the same.

Sportstars such as Tommy Bowe bringing out footwear ranges and our own Paul Galvin’s style page are all adding to the acceptance of sharp dressed men.

For those of you looking to buy something special in Tralee, Ryles on Ashe Street have an amazing range and stock wonderfully stylish labels such as Barbour and the afore mentioned Tommy Bowe’s  XV Kings clothing and footwear range.

Ted Baker suits will be part of their Summer collection and one that I have to say I really love. The lads working in Ryles are incredibly knowledgeable and give great advice to ensure that when choosing the perfect outfit that you get it right. They are also very friendly and helpful and make shopping a pleasant experience.

I spoke recently to Kate at Expose Beauty Lounge and she told me that men are now taking care of their skin more than ever.

Discretion is key to having men visit the salon and they are much more comfortable visiting Expose as they are guaranteed this.

Skin problems are not exclusive to just us ladies and men are now much more likely to visit an expert to get advice.

Dermalogica offer a great mens range and Expose stock all the essentials for men. They also have a loyalty scheme which is a great way to reward their clients. Check out their Facebook page for special offers and super competitions.

While watching the coverage of the Oscars I was delighted to see that those interviewing the stars on the red carpet as well as asking all the female stars who they were wearing, also asked the guys. And why not?

The male stars looked handsome in their Tom Ford,  Ralph Lauren etc tuxedos.

There really is nothing nicer than to see the Hollywood royalty scrub up well for the highlight of the social calendar.

We look forward to seeing our own men looking dapper at the Rose of Tralee Ball every August.

Until next week,

Stay stylish!

Orlagh xx
