Orlagh Winters ProfileSO it’s December and we can all now embrace the Christmas spirit.

Of course with this time of year comes the party season and this week I am going to give you my tips for being super stylish during this festive time.

This week have your hair colour done, I just had mine done today by the super talented Michelle Carroll in Patrick’s Hair Company. Once the cut and colour is done you are halfway there to keeping up appearances.

If you have a work party, decide early on the chosen ensemble. Depending on whether the party is a formal chances are that a little black dress will take you there. The LBD really is the ultimate party dress.

Velvet is always a favourite at this time of year. Locally there is some beautiful pieces available. Locally there is some beautiful pieces available at Divas and Dudes on Castle Street.

Black trousers teamed with a sparkly top always works, particularly with the inclement weather.  Mind you the forecasted temperature drop has still not materialised. Jasmine has a fabulous selection of trousers and embellished tops to suit all shapes and sizes.

Sometimes you will want to wear something during this festive period that will make you stand out from the crowd. Rockalilly has some really unusual dresses and their signature fifties look is bang on trend at the moment.

Hannons in Castleisland has the most amazing evening dresses and they are always my go-to shop for any blacktie or formal dinners that I attend.

When the big night is over and you may be feeling a tad tender then comfort is the name of the game.

Paco have a really great choice of those pieces. Over sized knitwear and leggings are the order of the day and let’s face it if you are going to be feeling sorry for yourself you may as well look good while doing it.

Have them at the ready for the following day so you can pop to the shop to get the obligatory chocolate and crisps to help ease the pain.

So guys that is it for this week, hard to believe that it is only three weeks to Christmas Day, enjoy the build up.
