CLEARLY Mother Nature didn’t get the memo that at this time of year the sun is supposed to be shining.
It’s really hard to believe that the Rose of Tralee festival begins in a few days.
I know that there will be knockers who come out of the woodwork every year but whatever anyone thinks of it, the festival brings with it a great positive buzz and much needed boost to the local economy.
There is lots for everyone to do and this culminates in the selection nights on Monday and Tuesday night live from the Dome.

I really do have a certain degree of empathy for the girls vying for the title this year as they have huge boots to fill. I am not insinuating that the current Rose of Tralee has big feet or anything, it is just that I can’t remember there ever being a girl who has been so popular.
She has embraced her role and is popular with young and old from toddlers to pensioners, everyone loves Maria. She has the entire package with her beauty and own style, she will certainly be remembered for all of the right reasons in years to come.
Friday night the festival kicks off with the Rose Ball and I believe that it is sold out and this is not surprising as for anyone who has ever been will know that it really is a great, action packed night.

Sean Taaffe’s vintage up styles and glamour waves are really stunning and can be the difference in an outfit looking good and looking great. Every year at Kerry Fashion Week, Sean’s work causes a stir on the catwalk, from colour to cuts his work is amazing.
