Best Dressed Lady 1

Best Dressed Lady at the Rose Fashion Show, Catriona Sayers.

WELL folks that’s it for another year, we have our winner! Maria Walsh is our new Rose of Tralee and we here at TraleeToday.ie wish her the very best of luck for the coming year.

We will be looking forward to seeing her style and glamour over the coming 12 months.

Speaking of style, did you ever think that Tralee was such a stylish town? I thoroughly enjoyed covering the fashion exploits at the International Rose Ball and the Fashion Show at the Dome.

Thankfully I am not in front of the camera every day as I couldn’t possibly cope with not being allowed to have an off-day. The pressure to look good constantly is something I do not relish, but thanks to Emma of Urban Decay and Michelle in Patrick’s Hair Salon, at least my make-up and hair looked good!

You will have seen from the clips here on the website that fashion was in abundance at the Rose Ball. Obviously the Roses looked beautiful as you would expect, but for me it was the local girls who shone on the night.

If I was to choose a best dressed on the night it would have to be Jackie Crowe.

Some of you may remember Jackie’s TV program about her battle with cancer as it touched a cord with the entire country. Looking splendid in a Don O’Neill creation, Jackie looked like one of Don’s models. It was heartwarming to see Jackie look so well and so beautiful.

What I love about black-tie events is the array of colour and styles on all shapes and sizes. The guys always look good too in their 007 look.

I hope you got to see the great coverage by both Dermot and Ryan on the site, make sure if you see someone that you recognise that you tag them so they too get the opportunity to see it.

Sunday night, Tralee was up there with the fashion capitals such as Paris, Milan or New York.

I was very proud on Monday when I got calls from friends from various parts of the country to compliment the very fashionable ladies caught on camera.

From young to old there was every possible outfit combination and I was thrilled to see Caitriona Sayers walk away with the gong for the best dressed on the night. She looked beautiful in a Tina Griffin/Carol Kennelly combination. I don’t think I have ever seen a happier lady when the winner was announced.

Whatever the occassion ladies, after seeing the stunning pieces to suit every budget that graced the catwalk, you certainly will find something to wear and wear it well!

Until next week,

Stay stylish
Orlagh xx
