Tesco stores in Tralee helped raise cash for charity last Saturday.

TESCO stores in Tralee and Killarney collected over €1,800 for charity in just six hours last Saturday during the ‘Lemonade & Lollipops’ event.

It was a sweet success for the Tesco colleagues as they raised the cash for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.

Customers were invited to enjoy a cup of lemonade and a lollipop in their local Kerry store in return for a donation to the children’s hospital.

The local stores involved in the event were Killarney New Street, Killarney Park, Tralee Manor and Tralee Square Express.

All 149 Tesco stores across the country took part in the national fundraiser, raising a total of €85,000 in one day, which will support the cost of medical equipment that will be of significant benefit in cleft palate and speech operations.

Tesco’s ‘Lemonade & Lollipops’ event brings Tesco’s fundraising total for Temple Street, its Charity Partner of the Year, to over €900,000 since launching in October 2014.
