Over €65,000 In Funding For Tralee-Based Company Under Government Scheme

FUNDING of €746,091 is to be invested in 12 Kerry Digital Hubs, including one in Tralee, under the Connected Hubs Scheme.

The funding is designed to enable existing hubs and broadband connection points to enhance, improve and upgrade capacity to remote working infrastructure in Kerry.

Grants will also fund measures to assist hubs to deal with COVID related challenges.

The hubs to benenfit are; HQ CoWorking Space €65,517.30; RDI Hub €66,626.11; Sneem Digital Hub €71,250.00; The Box CoWork €66,482.00; Kenmare CoWorking Hub €71,000.00; Mol Teic (Dingle Hub) €68,000.00; Office Light €40,473.00; Killarney Technology Innovation Ltd €67,122.00; gteic@Corca Dhuibhne – Údarás €14,967.00; Island Point €74,976.00; Kerry Innovation Centre €71,872.65; South Kerry Development Partnership CLG  €67,805.00.

This funding will support a wide range of relevant works including the expansion of existing hubs, installation of privacy booths, access control and security systems, the conversion of existing open plan space to modular offices, and provision of enhanced audio visual, networking and conferencing facilities.

The 12 hubs included in the scheme are based in: Killorglin, Tralee, Sneem, Killarney, Dingle, Kenmare, Cahersiveen and Castleisland.

Minister Norma Foley welcomed the funding. “This funding will enhance Kerry’s reputation as a vibrant, innovative and connected option for those choosing to work remotely,” she said.
