A LOCAL postman has raised over €700 for the Kerry Cancer Support Group after a charity headshave held last weekend.

Aidan Griffin held the event in The Huddle Bar last Friday night where he was joined by a few friends who also lost their locks — thanks to local barber Tony McMahon — which encouraged customers to donate more to the charity.

When the donation buckets were emptied, they found €705.26 had been raised for the great cause and the proceeds were presented to Breda Dyland of the Kerry Cancer Support Group on Friday at The Huddle Bar.

Aidan, who had been growing his hair out for the past couple of years with a charity event in mind, thanked everyone who came on the night and donated, The Huddle Bar and local businesses for giving spot prizes.

Breda Dyland thanked Aidan and everyone who donated for their efforts and said the funds will go towards their new wheelchair accessible vehicle which they hope to take delivery by mid-April.
