A WONDERFUL organisation will be the beneficiary of a fun special event this Saturday afternoon at a town centre fashion store.

Eileen Whelan at Paco on the Mall will once again welcome people in for an ‘Afternoon Tea’ fundraiser in aid of Chernobyl Children’s Fund Tralee & District.

The Kerry Rose, Sally Ann Leahy, was on hand to launch the event outside Paco on Monday afternoon. Sally Ann is an active volunteer with Chernobyl Children’s Fund, Tralee welcoming children into her home during the summer and recently travelling to Belarus to volunteer in an orphanage.

The secondary school teacher will once again welcome two children into her home this July and is encouraging people to support the event this Saturday, where Eileen Whelan is promising some great entertainment.

“We’ll have a fashion show in the store. We’ll also have fantastic cakes, scones and tarts — all homemade — tea and coffee and maybe even a glass of prosecco! There’ll be music as well and we’ll bring it out onto the street here to create a fun atmosphere on Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm.”

You can donate in the buckets in-store to the great cause.

“We’re trying to create awareness for the charity that does trojan work bringing children over to stay here in Kerry, which benefits their health and wellbeing. We’re delighted to do all we can to help,” added Eileen.
