YET again the people of Tralee showed their generosity on Shrove Tuesday at fundraisers held around town to help out local charities.

In Chopin’s Cafe on Ashe Street, Tom Sheehy from Ballyroe took his bike for a spinning session to raise funds for Enable Ireland Kerry.

Having already raised around €80,000 for the service, he pedalled away under a gazebo while local musicians Dave Rath and Willie Kelly provided the soundtrack for a while and people could enjoy some coffee/tea and goodies for a donation, which eventually amounted to €937.40.

Meanwhile, over in Kirby’s Brogue Inn, Recovery Haven were holding a fundraiser where tea/coffee and pancakes came free, again for a small donation.

Gala in Oakpark and Mounthawk also held a similar fundraiser and Recovery Haven expressed their thanks to both the Brogue and Gala for their kindness.
