LAST night the eyes of the world were fixed on Rio when Mario Gotze, a player who has graced a Kerry pitch back in 2008, bagged the winner in the World Cup final for Germany.
On Monday morning though, St Brendan’s Park FC got their annual summer camp underway in Christy Leahy Park where youngsters are dreaming of emulating their heroes.
About 60 or so boys and girls will be attending the camp this week and who knows, maybe one of them will go on to score in a World Cup Finals.
The camp runs until Friday and gets under way each morning at 10am and finishes at two in the afternoon.
