THE R556 Rathscannell or Dale Road, which had reopened before Christmas after a period of two and a half years, is closed again.
The 2km stretch of road, located between Abbeydorney and Ballyduff, saw a major redevelopment due to safety issues which began in August 2020.
It reopened before Christmas 2021 but notice was given that it would have to close again for a re-laying of the final surface.
It was closed earlier this week and is due to reopen on April 22 after the work is completed, but it’s hoped the works may be completed ahead of schedule.
