Tralee Mourns Tess Leane Of The Abbey Inn

THE death has occurred of popular Tralee woman Tess Leane.

Originally from Tipperary town, Tess, wife of Danny Leane of The Abbey Inn, passed away last night after a very short illness. Tess was known to many who frequented the Abbey over the decades for her kind and genial manner.

Tess almost lost her life five years ago when she was involved in an accident, but had made a recovery. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially devoted husband Danny, her four children Manus, Sandy, Kerry and Danny, grandchildren, brothers Paddy and Dick, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, extended family and many friends.

Reposing at The Abbey Inn, Bridge Street, on Friday from 4pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12 noon in St. John’s Church, Tralee. Interment afterwards in Aghadoe Cemetery, Killarney. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Coronary Care Unit, University Hospital Kerry, care of the Gleasure Funeral Home.

  3. Tess was a lady who will never be forgotten by everyone who went to the Abbey Inn, especially in the mid to late seventies when all great musicians played the Abbey.
    My condolences to Danny, Manus, Sandy, Kerry, Danny and all the family.
