SO you think Paul Galvin grew that beard because he’s a slave to hipster fashion, eh?
And his decision to write a book was an off-the-cuff desire to tell the real story behind the enigmatic Lixnaw character?
Well thanks to a photo posted on Facebook by a friend of TraleeToday.ie, we can only deduce that Paul Galvin must have been inspired by the look of this 19th century Russian writer who is the spit of our footballing legend.
Jack Murray of MediaContact.ie was in New York during the week and posted a photo from a visit to the The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s a portrait of the writer Vsevolad Garshin by Ilya Repin.
Jack thinks the resemblance is uncanny. We agree, but we’d say Vsevolad’s distribution and breaking ball skills wouldn’t have been a patch on Paul’s.
Anymore Kerry football doppelgängers readers?
We reckon Marc Ó Sé and German World Cup hero Philipe Lahm could be cousins…
