NATIONAL Arthritis Week 2020 begins on Monday April 20 and this year’s theme is #EVERY MOVEMENT MATTERS.

Due to the current COVID 19 lockdown all of the Kerry Branch of Arthritis Ireland’s planned exercise sampling sessions are cancelled.

Therefore, on their Facebook page, they will be showcasing video highlights from their current Hydrotherapy, Aqua Jogging, Aqua Aerobics, Step 2 The Beat Dance, Gym & Theraband Strengthening, Seated Yoga and Walking exercise programmes where people will have the opportunity to workout alongside these videos.

There will also be introductions from Dr. Fahd Adeeb Consultant Rheumatologist at UHK, Frank Fahy of Fit Walk Ireland on Nordic and Activator walking poles, Antonia Burke Senior Physiotherapist and HSE Falls Prevention Officer at UHK and Maeve Ferris Yoga and Meditation coach.

Research over the last number of years has highlighted just how important movement, especially appropriate exercise can be in the treatment of arthritis and other related conditions. The age-old adage ‘’Move it or Lose it’’ has never been truer.

If you would like to post a short video of your exercise routine during National Arthritis Week on their Facebook page, they would love to see them so click here to go to their page.
