THREE years, three trophies.

Garvey’s Tralee Warriors sealed their first Men’s Superleague title in style yesterday to reach the top after just a few years in existence.

The heavy lifting was done on Saturday night in Dublin against UCD Marian, when they overcame 12 point deficit with four minutes to go to force overtime and then win it.

On Sunday, the complex was packed to see them easily beat UCD Marian by 88 points to 73 to secure the title.

There was some emotion when the buzzer went and captain Darren O’Sullivan accepted the trophy…

It’s been an incredible journey for these players and the town has really taken the team to their hearts. They’ve created national headlines and done more for the promotion of basketball in Ireland than any other team in living memory.

The home games at the complex are the hottest ticket in town and special mention must be made of these two guys below for getting the ball rolling on this three years ago.

But it’s been a real team effort from the fans, the volunteers, sponsors and others which has brought the club to this point and they all deserve this success.

We took some photos at the complex and later that night in The Greyhound Bar where fans and players celebrated. Scroll down for photos…
