WELL that was nice.

A first half of Kingdom brilliance made for a happy crowd in Austin Stack Park last night as Kerry cruised to a 1-15 to 0-11 win over great rivals Dublin.

They may have only scored one point in the second period, but all the damage was done in the previous 35 with some stunning scores and superb performances despite the wet and windy conditions, not least from Na Gaeil’s Diarmuid O’Connor who won Man of the Match.

The stand was packed over an hour before throw-in and the covered terrace on the Mitchels side also filled up fairly quickly as fans aimed to avoid the rain.

While there was a noisy atmosphere for the first 25 minutes, Kerry’s dominance quelled the Dubs supporters chanting.

The other big winners on the night were the hotels and bars around town as there was a great atmosphere on a night where the green and gold faithful had the bragging rights. Scroll down for photos…
