IT may have been a 13 point defeat (0-12 to 1-22) but there was certainly no shame in Kerry’s loss to Galway on Sunday in the home side’s penultimate Allianz Hurling League Division 1B game of the season.
Kerry will now prepare for a showdown with Offaly on March 26 at Austin Stack Park where a win would see them into the quarter-finals.
Based on their first half performance, they can have great confidence facing the Midlanders.
They were a match for the Connacht side during this period and but for a late goal from Padraig Brehony, they would have gone in level at half-time, rather than the 0-7 to 1-7 scoreline.
But Galway’s skill and fitness told in the second period where the outscored Kerry by 15 points to five. Joe Canning, making his return after a hamstring injury, scored nine points on the day, six from frees. Scroll down for photos from the match…
