A BAD night all around.

Sleet, hail, rain and strong winds blew across Austin Stack Park on Saturday night and it brought a freeze to Kerry’s winning streak in the league.

All is not lost of course after the 0-11 to 1-10 defeat to Mayo, but it certainly was a wake-up call to anyone who was getting carried away with the performances over the past six weeks.

Mayo dealt with the atrocious conditions far better than Kerry, especially in the second period when it felt like most of that half was played inside the Kerry 45 yard line.

There were a few good Kerry performances though and avoiding defeat against Roscommon guarantees a final place, but it’s clear there’s much still to do before the summer.

It was good to see James O’Donoghue back in action and surely David Clifford will see some action in the next game so there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks. We took some photos on the night
