THAT was some battle last night…at times literally!
For anyone who was in Austin Stack Park on Saturday night, there was no shortage of excitement as Kerry and Dublin played out a fascinating draw, 0-13 apiece.
It was a passionate, at times ill-tempered affair but those Dubs are incredibly resilient and in the end they came back from a four point deficit to level it with time almost up to equal Kerry’s 34 game unbeaten record stretching back to the 1930s.
It could be a precursor to what follows later in the year if these two sides meet again and let’s hope that encounter will be as tense and enthralling as last night.
The Dublin fans added greatly to the atmosphere, taking over the Mitchels end, but Kerry supporters were every bit as vocal on a night which thankfully stayed dry. Here’s some images from the game…
Great to see Kerry stand eye to eye with their Dublin counterparts and hopefully lay down a marker for fhe summer .Exciting tense encounter which reminded me of the famous semi-final replay with Mayo that night in Limerick.
Great heart and stamina by the Kerry lads.
However , take out Paul Geaney and the scoring return from the other five forwards was abysmal .
