MOYDERWELL Mercy Primary School pupils began their performances of ‘The Lion King’ on Wednesday to great approval from audiences.
There’s a cast of almost 300 students over the two days (Wednesday and Thursday) and the public can still catch performances on Thursday (11.30am and 7.30pm) at the school.
The hour long musical, designed for primary school performers, is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor and the 1994 Disney film.
All children from 1st to 6th Class have a cast, chorus or production-team part. The production contains approximately 290 students directed by Bryan Carr (School of Performing Arts) and staff from Moyderwell.
The Lion King KIDS performance is open to the public and admission is by ‘prepaid Ticket only’. Tickets are available in advance now from the school office (066 7124403). Price €8 per adult; €15 for two adult tickets; Children €5.
