LADIES from the Austin Stacks team which won the County Championship Final against Castleisland Desmonds back in 1977, attended a 40th anniversary celebration on Saturday night.
Taking place in the Austin Stacks Clubhouse in Connolly Park, many of the team attended and reminisced about the win and their times on the football pitch.
The evening was organised by Ann O’Callaghan Eager and Noreen Power and guests enjoyed a buffet before commemorative medals were presented to the team members by the 1977 Chairman of the Kerry Ladies Board, Mick Fitzgerald from Castleisland.
Trainer of that Austin Stacks Ladies team, the late Moss Carroll, was represented by his son, Kevin Carroll. The memories flowed and it was a great night for all involved in the club. Scroll down for photos…
