IT’S been a long month, but a worthwhile one for those who took part in the 31 Day Challenge to promote positive mental health in 2019.
The challenge was for people to go for a walk or run 5k everyday over the month and to donate €1 for every day to the fund which will benefit three charities – Baile Mhuire Day Centre for Older Persons, Irish Cancer Society and Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin.
Some of the over 300 participants took part in the final walk of month on Thursday night from Baile Mhuire and afterwards they enjoyed refreshments and received special medals for taking part.

Organiser Caroline Corkery said was delighted with the response to the challenge and after costs, around €8,200 will be divided between the three charities.
The 31 Day Challenge has been a big success over the past few years thanks to Tralee man, Poshey Aherne, who saw the need to get people active and motivated during the worst month of the year for depression. Scroll down for photos…
