PHOTOS: Hundreds Take Part In CBS The Green Fun Run (Part One)

OVER 400 people of all ages pounded the roads this afternoon in CBS The Green’s second annual 5k and 3k fun runs.

The event was a fundraiser for the school’s all-weather pitch, which is currently under construction and there was a great atmosphere at the school, where Kerry football and hurling All-Ireland winning minors from the school brought their cups for people to see.

The event raised €3,000 last year and it’s hoped a similar amount will be realised this year,.

There was prizes for the winners, music and medals for all and post-race refreshments were enjoyed. Families were well-catered for with bouncy castles and face painting for the kids.

Norman Foley of Spar, Castlemaine Road, Tralee sponsored the medals and trophies and Lee Strand sponsored the race numbers and the post-race refreshments.

The results of the race were as follows;

Men’s Race: 1. Tommy O’Brien 16.16; 2. Arthur Fitzgerald 16.42; 3. Stephen Griffin 17.12.

Female: 1. Sharon Cahill 18.40; 2. Charlotte Costello 21.07; 3. Liz Heaslip 21.27

Past Pupil: Last year’s winner Stephen Reidy was just pipped to the post in a nail biting sprint to finish by Fran McElligott who took the honours this year

Primary Student: Donagh Stephenson, Spa NS.

First CBS teacher: Mark Ryall followed by Des Healy

International Student: Patrick Ventura.
