THE sixth years of Presentation Secondary gathered with their families on Thursday to enjoy graduation day.
It was the first time since 2019 that the traditional graduation day — a Mass in St John’s followed by families going back to the school to enjoy refreshments — could take place.
There were 116 students graduating this year and most of them attended the Mass which was celebrated by Fr Sean Jones. The ceremony included speeches from Head Girls Cáit de Rís and Elizabeth O’Connor, as well as from Principal Chrissie Kelly and Vice Principal Sheila O’Connor.

A ‘Ceremony of Light’ also took place which saw representatives of the teaching staff, the board of management, parents and students present symbols of light to the graduating students. There was also music coordinated by Ms Noreen Lynch and all students received the gift of a chain with the Presentation cross.
The young ladies then headed back to the school to open the ‘time capsule’ letters they had written when starting in first year back in 2016, to their future selves.
A day to remember then and now it’s time for the final few weeks of studying before the exams. Best of luck to them all. Scroll down for photos…
