THE sixth class pupils of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn had been together eight years, so it was only fitting that they met up one last time before post-primary beckons in September.
The school organised a special ceremony at the school on Thursday, adhering to social distancing guidelines, which saw Fr Francis Nolan and Fr Vitalis Barassa celebrate Mass in front of the 37 pupils and their parents.
Principal Cáit Uí Chonchúir was delighted with how the evening went: “What a wonderful evening of celebration at the Gaelscoil this evening. After lovely Mass concelebrated by our chaplain An tAth Proinsias agus an tAth Vitalis, our buachaillí and cailiní donning their fab hoodies kindly funded by our Parents Association, were presented with their graduation certificate, the fáinne ór in recognition of their fluency sa Ghaeilge and their very own publication compiled during lockdown.

“An anthology of their own stories and poetry making for a very enjoyable read about an unforgettable time in our lives. A lovely evening under a sunny blue sky came to a close with the ice cream van. Bhain óg agus aosta ard taitneamh as na 99’s. Míle buíochas le éinne a bhí páirteach in aon slí.”
“The last few months were a challenge for everyone, but it was wonderful to get them all together before they begin secondary school in a couple of months,” said Cáit. Scroll down for photos…
