The beauty of the roses in the Town Park. Photo by Dermot Crean

THE hosepipe ban comes into effect today but it’s good to know the Rose Garden in the town park will continue to look amazing.

Kerry County Council staff in Tralee and across the county are using ‘grey’ water from the sewerage treatment plant to deliver a reduced watering service to the flowers and planting displays in the town.

‘Grey water’ is the run-off from sinks, washing machines etc which is not suitable for public consumption but which provides a water source to plants, flowers etc.

The Municipal District and the County Council are making every effort to minimise water usage while at the same time trying to maintain a basic level of service in the town.

We were in the Town Park some days ago and could not get over the colour and beauty of the rose garden, as you can see from the photos below…

A fabulous display, great work by Town Park staff and Council workers, keep it up. Tralee is looking great and a great place to live.
