Radio Kerry’s Deirdre Walsh launched the book and said it is an ideal gift for a child, as each of Alana’s adventures has a subtle message which educates and well as entertains. Deirdre also praised Ciara for the amazing illustrations which brings Alana and her friends to life.
The book is dedicated to Joe’s sister Angela Fitzgerald who sadly passed away in June and some funds raised from sales are going towards the Kerry Cork Health Link Bus, which was used by Angela during her battle with cancer. Members of Angela’s family attended the launch, including her son Norman who edited the book.
Joe thanked Tralee Library for the use of the venue, Cara Credit Union, Tralee Printing Works, Norman Fitzgerald for editing, Deirdre Walsh for launching it, his family for their support and especially Ciara Maher for her artwork.
