THERE was a lot of activity in Ashe Street on Saturday as the traders there hosted a festival to show off the vibrant businesses in the area.

There was an arts and crafts stand for children by the Craft Makers Centre, musicians performed in front of the Courthouse, clothes shops Ryle Menswear, Regatta and Shindig had live models in the window display while there were food stalls outside Mozarts and Italianissimo.

The entertainment continued later with Jazz & Gin at The Ashe Hotel and a poetry evening at Chopin’s Cafe.  One of the organisers, Deirdre Enright of Craft Makers Centre, was delighted with the day.

“We had a wonderful day. The weather held out and we had a new mix of people coming on to the street and into the shops. The place was really alive and well done to all the traders who took part.” Scroll down for photos…
