PHOTOS: Awards Presented For Tralee’s Tidy Towns Effort

A LARGE crowd gathered in The Rose Hotel on Monday night for the presentation of prizes in the Tidy Tralee Together competition.

Prizes were given out in the estates, gardens, pubs, businesses, public buildings, filling stations, restaurants and hotels categories while Paul O’Brien and Hugh O’Brien were given special awards for their contribution to Tralee’s Tidy Towns effort.

Chairman of Tidy Tralee Together, Joe Moynihan, paid tribute to the volunteers who give so much of their time to ensure Tralee maintained its gold medal status for six years in a row. He also called for more people to get involved in the effort.

Mayor of Tralee, Norma Foley, echoed these sentiments and expressed a sincere thank you on behalf of the people of Tralee to the volunteers.

“As a town, we owe so much to the few, who do so much for the many. There are few people doing the work that would be so much easier if there were many more doing it,” she said. The full list of winners in all categories is below all the photos…
